Soccer Mom (and coach)

Today I had Griffen all ready for school by 12:20 when Mike came through the door and said, "Griffen doesn't have school today?!?" I thought I was doing pretty well keeping the school schedules straight. Maybe Anja's Kindergarten Connection open house yesterday threw me off. She will go Monday mornings only - see picture below from her first day. We now have 4 kids in school in some capacity, all with different schedules. I'm afraid by the time I get the schedule down, they will be dismissing school for the summer!

A few fun pictures from the last week or so.....

I can now officially say I am a soccer mom. Griffen is playing soccer for the first time this Fall and has his mom for a coach. I can only be honest in saying that some of the pee wee players know more about soccer than I do. Poor Griffen didn't even have shin guards until today (thanks Uncle Tim for letting us borrow some). The parents don't seem too competitive at this age yet (although the kids really play their hearts out, even if they end up in a huddled mass over the ball most of the time). Griffen loves it and loves the rough and tumble of the game. During one game he came up to me and said, "Mom, someone hit me in the stomach!" He wasn't hurt or disappointed. It was almost like he was proud to have a war wound.

Griffen's first show and tell for preschool was to bring something red. It didn't take his father long to talk him into bringing something really big and red (it helps to be on the fire department).

The church across the street from us has been having a new parking lot put in. Griffen and his buddy Seth were watching the machines work one day. I barely blinked and the boys were gone. I found them in the sand box "making a new parking lot".

Katia is now drinking from a cup and doing very well with it. I guess the next big milestone will be toilet training.
