Signs of Summer

We visited the Reu Farm to see their baby kittens. The kids loved petting them but are still quite cautious around animals.

Mela finally lost both front teeth. She hasn't been too crazy about letting mom take her picture, but I caught her on a good day.

Piggy Tails

More Remodeling

The remodeling continues. These are pictures of the dining and living room in progress. The painting is done. Now we just have to wait for the trim work. We're hoping it won't take six months like the last project!

Growing Up

This morning Mela and Elise walked to school on their own for the first time! Mela has been wanting to walk home from school after events and at times when the crossing guards were not in place, which made mom nervous with having to cross Hwy 75. So, over the last week she has been walking home from school on her own and this morning was the first day we (or I should say Mike) did not have to give them a ride.

For Easter this year we attended the presentation of "Worthy is the Lamb" on Saturday night at the Palace Theater. The kids did surprisingly well and were very attentive through the entire story of Jesus death and resurrection. We got the eggs colored and spent Easter Sunday afternoon at Oma and Opa's. The kids enjoyed hunting for eggs and spending time with their cousins.

Big Winner!

 

Griffen got a call today that he had won the basketball hoop game from Glen's grocery store. He was pretty excited about it and made sure everyone we ran into knew that he had won the prize. We went to pick it up after supper tonight and brought the whole crew along for the ride. Thank you, Brian, for helping us out!

Blue Skies?

Not sure where the blue skies went but it is snowing as I write this. It's been awhile since I've written as we have had sickness in the house since my last post. Yes, two weeks worth. Whatever it is, it lasts about 6 days. It started with Elise and Mela and now Anja, Katia and Mike have "it" and are hopefully on the last leg of whatever this is.

Mike has been so helpful through all this. I could not have made it without him! Good thing this all hit now while we are inbetween busy work seasons.

I told Mike too bad we couldn't get the bubble gum flavor medicine in a gallon jug as we've gone through so much over the past several days.

Since we've been homebound most of this time, I took Mela and Elise to the Washington Pavilion last night to get us out of the house for a bit. Griffen was invited to a Stampede Hockey game with a friend, so Mike and the two youngest were able to have a quiet evening at home getting some rest. The Washington Pavilion has been hosting First FREE Friday over the past couple of months. So, we had a free night of fun at the Kirby Science Discovery Center. It was our first time and I was very impressed!
